[Second Life History]: Second Life Creation History In The Words of Ratsie

This story came to me in the form of a notecard written by Aola Tyrian (Ratatosk Independent) dated 4 Oct 2016. It is printed here word for word with no alteration.

How it all started, according to Ratsie.

I. About the primordial box.

In the beginning there was a box.

And the box was given a name.

The name that was given to the box was: The ALPHA PRIM.

II. The beginning of time.

Thus it was created at 06:46:40 PDT in January 26, 2002.

This was before there was land or people, but the box was the seed of everything.

The moment in time as told, is the very moment of creation of the metaverse.

III. The creation of The Grid.

And the Lab saw the box and knew that it was good and said to the people:

Come on to us because we will make a world out of one single box.

This world will be given a name and the name will be: Agni.

Agni was thus created from the single box to cover 16 sims.

IV. The Ancient SIMs.

The names of the sims and their numbers were and still are:

1) Da Boom. 2) Ritch. 3) Zoe. 4) Stanford. 5) Freelon. 6) Freedom. 7) Minna. 8) Natoma.

9) Taber. 10) Welsh. 11) Clyde. 12) Hawthorne. 13) Shipley. 14) Clara. 15) Varney. 16) Stillman.

The first and the center of all was Da Boom. It will be the center of the grid until the end of times.

V. Linden Town

An ancient city, was built at Natoma. Over it stood a statue called The Man. The city's name was

Linden Town and it stood for a short while before it was torn down and the land was reused to the

first welcome area. It too, was not long lived and moved to Ahern. Ahern was then merged with Morris,

Bonefacio and Dore. Of Linden Town, the only thing that remains is the statue called The Man. And

instead of Linden Town, is now a sandbox of great age and the LIbrary of Primitive where the people

of Agni learned to create. It will stand there for ever.

VI. Ruth awakens.

The first avatars were proto avatars, rigid and ugly. They could not move and were solid,

and their names were Primitars.

One day, in the early days, Ruth opened her eyes on the land of Agni.

Ruth was joyous to be alive and all that saw her, beheld and were shaken by her beauty.

And there was morning and there was night, six times a day from that time and for ever after.

VII. The Burning Man.

Agni was the fiery one because her name was Agni after fire. And fire drives Agni from the first time and on.

The source of her is a Burning Man in a desolate place. The Burning Man gave the people of Agni the power to do and create things.

So the grid grew and soon it contained thousands and tens of thousands of sims.

The wealth of sims contained everything and anything and people and creatures met and formed communities and tribes, and there was great enthusiasm.

VIII. The reoccurence.

These were the happy years of Agni. When the world was young and mighty deeds were made, and every year, the Burning Man reappeared and came to Agni to give us energy and joy. This still happens and will happen until the end of time since Agni is burning with light and energy, and the Burning Man stokes her fire.
